Thank you for joining us at Coxhall Gardens!

The Coxhall Guild would like to thank everyone who participated in our second annual Kite Festival and made it such a success, especially the Hoosier Kiteflier's Society, Professor Steve, Gita Kapur, Division Chief John Moriarty and the Carmel Fire Department, Deputy Sadie Sequin from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Penny Lane VW Photo Bus and Liz Bedwell and Reed Nelson for taking such amazing photos of our event. We also want to thank the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation staff who worked behind the scenes to help make our event possible.

We saw thousands of happy faces and hundreds of kites  in the sky. This event was a wonderful opportunity for the Coxhall  Guild to give to the community and bring families out to the park on a  beautiful day.

Save the Date

We are already planning our third annual Kite Festival for April 2027.  We plan to have more kites, more activities and more fun to make our next event even better.

Hope to see you all there!

    1. Winds of 5 to 25 mph is ideal.
    2. Face away from the wind.
    3. Hold your kite by the bridle (the two strings attached to your kite and the kite line) and at eye level.
    4. Hold the kite until it begins to catch the wind and let out some line.
    5. Make sure the line is not slack, keep it slightly taught.
    6. If the wind is light, use a friend. Ask your friend to hold the kite in front of him 50 to 100 feet away from you.
    7. The moment the wind picks up, your friend should release the kite.
