Thank You!

The Coxhall Guild would like to thank everyone who participated in our first annual Kite Festival and made it such a success, especially the Hoosier Kiteflier's Society, Professor Steve, Gita Kapur, the Bach to Rock music school in Zionsville, Division Chief John Moriarty and the Carmel Fire Department, Sheriff Bryan Melton from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Zing! Cafe, Kits and Kaboodle Toys, Colonel Mustard Catering, and Dennis McClintock for taking such amazing photos of our event. We also want to thank the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation staff who worked behind the scenes to help make our event possible.

We saw thousands of happy faces and hundreds of kites in the sky. Keep your eyes open for the Hoosier Kiteflier's Society flying their kites at Coxhall Gardens throughout the year and check out their website https://hoosierkite.org/ for future planned events.

Save the Date

We are already planning our second annual Kite Festival for April 2026. Hope to see you all there! Maggie Zoiss, Coxhall Guild Kite Festival Chair

    1. Winds of 5 to 25 mph is ideal.
    2. Face away from the wind.
    3. Hold your kite by the bridle (the two strings attached to your kite and the kite line) and at eye level.
    4. Hold the kite until it begins to catch the wind and let out some line.
    5. Make sure the line is not slack, keep it slightly taught.
    6. If the wind is light, use a friend. Ask your friend to hold the kite in front of him 50 to 100 feet away from you.
    7. The moment the wind picks up, your friend should release the kite.
